About us

The founder, owner, and principal builder of Ascent Design and Build is Bruce Parke. Bruce is a third-generation builder and qualified drafter, beginning his career in 1991 as a carpenter. From there, Bruce went on to a supervisor role with a building company before moving into design and drafting for high-end million-dollar homes. This extensive experience means that Bruce has an intricate understanding of the Australian Standards and Regulations, Building Codes of Australia, construction methods, materials, design, planning applications and processes.

The team at Ascent Build and Design reflects the same level of dedication to quality, individual expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail that has defined Bruce’s career. We are proud to employ a team of dedicated, skilled, and experienced carpenters, from first-year apprentices through to senior tradesmen. Our most senior team members are John and David, each with more than 10-years’ experience, who lead a team of dedicated, skilled, and experienced carpenters.

At Ascent, we are committed to passing on our knowledge and supporting the building industry by maintaining a program of recruiting, training, and developing new apprentices. Our team of carpenters Ron, Anthony, Dylan, and Robert have all completed their apprenticeship with Ascent and are now training the next generation of apprentice carpenters. We are proud to regularly receive positive feedback from our clients about our dedication, promptness, and attention to detail.

What sets Ascent Design and Build apart is that we are design and construction specialists. That means you get more than just a builder. We have been building quality extensions and renovations since 1996. We complete every aspect of the build from inception to completion. That means there’s nothing for you to do except move in your furniture and decorate.

We simplify the process of renovations and extensions

Along with our in-house team, we work closely with a select group of licenced and insured sub-contractors; this includes plasterers, tilers, plumbers, and electricians. Most whom have been working with us for up to 10 years, building extensive extensions and renovations in Brisbane.

We never stop learning. We provide our team of tradesmen with on-going professional training that include Workplace Health and Safety, Certified Site Manager, Asbestos Removal, First Aid, and Electrical Testing and Tagging.
